Housing Need Surveys

The Parish Council have commisioned housing need surveys in 2005 and 2009 the results of which are attached to this section.  The most recent shows that there is a need for approximately 20 homes.

Decent Homes Standards

In 2001 the government launched the Decent Homes programme, requiring local authorities and housing associations to bring all social housing in England up to “Decent Homes Standard” by the end of 2010.  The report entitled “Decent Home Standards – the National Audit Office verdict” looks at the progress made and lessons learnt – download a copy by clicking on its title (opposite).  Residents will be aware that this requirement is a condition placed on Yarlington Housing Group (previously known as “South Somerset Homes”) with regard to the homes at Moor Close, Compton Dundon.
